Golf Course Review: Cabo Real Golf Club
Nice Track In Cabos
Stayed at The Marquis on the ocean and had a chance to sneak a round of golf in during vacation. Our concierge set up a tee time. If you have the option to play more than 1 round consider the pass which prepays for 3 rounds. A much better deal than playing one time.
The course is designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and recently flipped the nines. The fron nine is an open fair way to start your round. The course plays down to the ocean and back to the clubhouse. I would consider the signature hole #5. The short hole has a ravine running about 60 yards in front of the short hole. Driver may get in you in trouble so pick the right club of the tee. You get a great view of the water and adds alot to the golf course.
The back nine is tighter and requires a straighter ball and some higher lever of course management. The hole featured on the scorecard is hole #17. A short dog leg left with trouble along the left side. Take what the hole gives you and avoid a hero shot. A safe play of the tee with e hybrid or fairway metal will leave you a short wedge into a narrow green.
Hole #18 is a tight finishing hole with water in play from 100 yards and in. Once again a well placed shot is needed to keep it in play off the tee.
I asked a few of the locals and this is one of the better if not the best courses that is open to public in Cabos. Glad I played it... and crossed if off my list.
Based on my experience: I would play the course again.
